In her Bells of Dawn SS24 collection Mod'Art Budapest designer Kun Anna Emilia is processing two distinct but personal themes of her background to break barriers and redefine the boundaries of artistic expression: an impaired state of vision as a result of a birth disease and her Ukrainian heritage. The limited duochromatic palette, white materials used with leather and fur, the homage to Maryana Savka all serves the purpose to express an aggressive, anxious atmosphere. Blue embroideries hidden to first sight feature patterns of her rural origins sitting on top of the main red layer. Glazing through red glasses or red light, this uppermost layer disappears, showing the unseen meaning, representing her visual impairment perceiving UV light.
